What people are saying about Carmen Moore's presentations...
It was so amazing and I was sad it was only a one day course! My mind has been buzzing since I left of things I can implement not only with my school kiddos but also with my own child! Thank you so much for sharing and teaching today. I left the course, ran into our inclusion coordinator and said, "I don't know how we make it happen, but we need to have Carmen present to the entire staff as soon as possible!" You have such a perfect blend of pedagogy, research, candid stories and authenticity that helps to get people on board!" You are amazing. Keep doing this presentation for all schools. Break some barriers. I wish it lasted all day. Thank you. Carmen was informative, funny, insightful, and helping in sharing insight into the complex relationship between parents and teachers. This course was truly amazing. I really enjoyed this presentation. The only downfall is I wish we had more time with Carmen. I would have loved to hear more strategies and tips she has about working with autistic individuals. |
I feel so different about my job now. Thank you for sharing your story, your honesty, your insight. Your son is so blessed to have such a great mother. This session was a highlight. Being able to communicate with parents as could really help the family. The message was simple but hearing the story from the perspective of an educator and a parent was very powerful and valuable. The info in your session is a game changer for me for the rest of my career! You were wonderful! She was real. Was a real eye opener and was so informative, inspiring and heartfelt. Provided personal stories of her son with Autism, was true to what Carmen put in the title. It was honest, vulnerable and provided a glimpse into what life is like when you have a child with autism. The good and the bad. Took away strategies to try with students in my school as well. |
Carmen was an extremely enlightening presenter. I appreciated her being real. Personal stories. Very relatable. I am not sure I should have, but I actually stayed with Carmen Moore for more sessions than I was booked for. Amazing speaker...so much job relevant information. Next time I would book all sessions with her. i would recommend everyone to hear her speak." I could listen to her all day. The roads were treacherous heading in and I debated not going but am so glad I did! Loved your presentation. Excellent insight on both “sides” of the topic. The honesty. Very moving and honest. This session was excellent. Carmen was an amazing speaker. Thank you for sharing your perspective! It was great to hear a personal story relating to the topic. Loved this session. Would have loved an entire day to learn with Carmen |

Loved it!! Best one yet, it was amazing. Valuable information and wonderful anecdotes. Fantastic presentation!" |
Very engaging speaker, would enjoy having her in my program as an autism coach."
She provided so many great examples and really contextualized everything instead of just stating general ideas. She was energetic and engaging throughout the presentation. Very engaging!"
Really great speaker - funny and relatable. Helpful, useful information. Immediate takeaways!"

Presentations by Topic:
"EVERYTHING I WISH I KNEW THEN THAT I KNOW NOW...."This session is a sharing of a unique perspective of a teacher, administrator, inclusive education teacher/coach, educational assistant and parent of a child with challenges. It highlights both sides of the family and educational experience for families that have children with any extra needs/diagnosis/struggles. On the education side of the issue, I thought that I was saying and doing the 'right things' for students and families. It is only after becoming a parent that I see things from a much different perspective and that has informed my practice immensely.
It is told within a story framework (with a dash of humour) highlighting some hints on how to foster relationships, communication and understanding to move forward with more trust and cooperation. This session is very popular as it pertains to many parties. We are all on a team to better support the child and this remains the focus. Presentation Time: 60, 75, 90 or 120 Minutes (shortened session or full) Celebrate Life, Love and Joy as Educators

A Year in the Life of a Catholic School: Living the Liturgical Year
This presentation is told in the context of many 'real life stories', laced with humour, as I was an active Catholic school teacher and administrator for most of my teaching career. Over the course of that time, I had many insights and ideas for ways to ensure that the school truly became 'holy ground'. It is presented with many concrete ideas that will make a real difference in the implementation and building up of the Catholic culture in your school community within the framework of the liturgical year. These ideas are easy to implement, to permeate throughout the school, yet based in sound theological roots as I have a Master of Religious Education.

"Let the Waters Flow: A lesson in learning to let go and still be OK"
This presentation is a based on an unexpected life lesson I learned as my father was in the process of dying as well as ongoing life hurdles. This theme is universal in that struggle is an inevitable part of the human condition. Using this pretext as a way to offer insight, direction and consolation, this presentation is told within a story format that is relatable and sometimes even humorous. This presentation can be faith based or not, depending on the audience and purpose. This presentation is very popular and can be adapted to many different audiences/purposes. Presentation Time: Half or full day (see link above for rates and more details) *2 Day retreat style PD also available (see link for rates at https://my.visme.co/view/1j60kq1p-catholic-pd-proposal) Reminder this presentation can be faith based or presented without that lens. |
AUTISM, HONEST DISCUSSION, PRACTICAL IDEAS AND SOME FUNNY STORIES
Having been an educator, inclusive education teacher and teacher coach, administrator, parent and having attained a Masters Level Graduate Certificate in Autism, I have a unique and broad perspective on autism. As we begin to see rates of children/students with autism rise (diagnosed and undiagnosed, varied levels of functioning), we can look to advance our own understanding, knowledge base and perspective on this growing reality for families and classrooms. This presentation helps facilitate an honest look at the joys and challenges, some practical ideas for both home and school as well as a look at the positive and often humorous side to autism. We can begin to put the puzzle together: together.

PERSONAL WELLNESS: LIFE OR DEATH?
Finding balance and joy within the framework of the field of education.
This presentation is a personal account of my own journey to find wellness, balance, health, joy and overall control over my own life within the context of work/service. There is often such pressure to achieve or produce certain results, put in so many hours, facilitate new and innovative programs, improve current practice that it can be overwhelming and never ending. Told through a first hand account of how I discovered the strategies to find work/life balance that is often funny but a serious message as well.

HELP!! THIS STUDENT STILL CAN'T READ!!
This presentation is for teachers, EA's, parents or anyone who is still not finding what works for some child/ren to begin reading. This is a very cost effective doable strategy that yields positive results in a relatively short amount of time. As a primary teacher, it seemed each school year that there were one or two students that still couldn't read when what I was doing seemed to work well for the rest. This is a strategy based on new brain based programming for those learners that may learn to read in a different manner. This presentation has an excellent response from participants!

PROJECT INDEPENDENCE
Student independence is a main goal for parents and educators alike. Moving from dependence to independence can happen more successfully if frameworks for success are in place based on planned, sometimes subtle strategies employed. We have successfully began this work in my own school district and I can help you get a start in this important work as we systematically equip admin, teachers, educational assistants and even peers.
