This will be a huge boost to any parent who wants reading or math help for their child(ren). Sessions will take place at the GPPL upon coordination with Leanne Bachinsky.

Would you like your child tested in the areas of phonemic awareness (word sounds in reading)? Would you like to know precisely where they are at as a reader? If yes, Leanne from Leaps and Bounds Learning can test your child in multiple areas to find out.
What next? If you would like, Leanne can develop an individualized program, based on your child's results and can work to build to their strengths and fill in any reading gaps.
Who? Any reader that may be struggling with any aspects. There is no age limit.
How much does this cost? $120 per assessment and the results will be available to you within a week with a half hour consultation. At that time, you have the option to follow up with intervention/learning support with Leanne privately.
What are the details? After you fill out the contact form, Leanne will contact you directly through email to work out regular times that work for you and her. You can book up to three sessions a week (one to three times is typical per week). These sessions are prorated at $40 per half hour (ex: $60/45 min and so on). She will meet your child at the Grande Prairie Public Library for the tutoring session. Sessions will be available for Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays afterschool and every weekday afternoon from 1-3pm as well for any homeschooling families interested.
EFT (or cheques) are accepted at [email protected]
Initially, the session will begin with a baseline assessment to determine where your child is at currently and an individualized program will be implemented throughout the sessions. You can request a progress report and/or verbal updates as needed.
The duration of the sessions are flexible and up to the family. This is meant to be family friendly and a positive experience for everyone!
NOTE: Tutoring services that are additional to the primary education of a person with a learning disability or an impairment in mental functions, and paid to a person in the business of providing these services to individuals who are not related to the person. A medical practitioner must certify in writing that these services are needed. (Tutoring Medical Expense definition on CRA site.)

Leanne Bachinsky/Leaps and Bounds Learning GP
Leanne Bachinsky, a professional educator, with over 15 years of experience in the classroom, has been supporting students in the primary grades for most of her career. Her passion is working with children, from very young to older students, finding creative and interactive ways to effectively help them meet their potential. She is positive, caring, engaging and will be able to help your child to grow and develop in the areas of numeracy and literacy. Leanne has completed the Orton-Gillingham Science of Reading training that uses a multi-sensory approach to teaching the child to read, spell and write. This approach will give your child a much needed foundation to literacy skills that will help them in the classroom and in their daily life as a reader and writer. Her areas of expertise and training have given her the skills to tutor in the areas of math and reading (with a focus on children ages 5-8 but can tutor students in language arts up to grade 6). Leanne is also a busy mom to two active teenage boys and enjoys her time outside going for walks with their new puppy. Leanne's passion for learning and connecting are unparalleled and we are thrilled to have her join the CMoore in Education team as we expand to better serve GP and area's educational needs.
