Leanne Bachinsky, a professional educator, with over 15 years of experience in the classroom, has been supporting students in the primary grades for most of her career. Her passion is working with children, from very young to older students, finding creative and interactive ways to effectively help them meet their potential. She is positive, caring, engaging and will be able to help your child to grow and develop in the areas of numeracy and literacy. Leanne has completed the Orton-Gillingham Science of Reading training that uses a multi-sensory approach to teaching the child to read, spell and write. Graduating from the University of Alberta in 2006, Janine started her career teaching in Grande Prairie. Having spent multiple years running camps with the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation, Janine infused fun into her classroom through a variety of games and musical activities. Her high standards and commitment to ensuring all are treated with kindness and respect have resulted in many awards and accolades for her dedication and compassion. Having been diagnosed with ADHD early on in her career, Janine has spent much time researching and implementing strategies to support neurodiversity in the classroom. She is excited to co-facilitate ADHD groups this Fall! Janine also offers one-on-one and small group learning support in both French and English. Through her company, Learning to Shine, she will be running French day camps to give students an opportunity to improve their language skills through fun and engaging games and activities!
Janine draws on her many life experiences to help her connect with students and their families. Music has always been a passion of Janine’s and one of her favorite places to be is sitting around a campfire, singing and playing guitar. Janine’s much-loved dog, Evvy, is the perfect walking companion and the two enjoy exploring nearby trails. Spending time with friends and family is truly what fills up her bucket!
